March 8 Emilia Frost JORDAN!

March 8

Today we left Israel :(  But we got to go to Jordan :) We drove to the border between Israel and Jordan and switched buses because our tour guide and bus driver couldn’t go into a different country. We got our luggage checked and headed on our journey to Petra. Petra is a city carved into stone, and is one of the 7 wonders of the world. The walk to Petra was about 1.5 miles and as we walked we noticed how strange the rocks looked. It looks as though they were torn apart and we were walking on a narrow path in between them. We later learned that there was a huge earthquake a few thousand years back that tore the mountain apart. We got to a huge building carved into stone. We didn’t get to go inside the building but we rode horses and camels around the rock city. Riding the horses were fun and we got to walk around on them for only half a mile. The camels were really fun. We got on them while they were laying down and as they were getting up it was kind of scary because it felt like you were about to fall off. We walked around with them and it was a lot higher up than a horse and a lot bumpier than a horse. There is also a LOT of stray cats in Israel and Jordan. Me and Cason were petting a lot of them but our favorite was an orange cat that was really friendly. Once we finished, we went back to the bus and drove to the hotel. We ate dinner and went to the pool and hot tub.
