GoPro On Vacation
As a librarian one of my greatest joys is watching children discover. The discovery, I find so delightful, may range from the understanding that a coral reef is not a plant to the discovery of technology. This morning I let the elementary children at Camp Library have my snorkeling footage shot on the GoPro Hero 9 from the Donnelly Library. The Library recently received a STEM grant to purchase a camera. We live in an area that is very recreational and so chose to purchase several accessories (Helmet Cam for mountain biking, chest Cam for skiing, and of course all the equipment to go underwater.) I checked the camera out for a recent trip to the Virgin Islands and it did not disappoint.
Beginner’s Luck: I am a total NOVUS. I struggle finding the power button on many devices. It was my first time using the GoPro and it was also my first time snorkeling. The GoPro will make you feel like a PRO, even if you are a beginner.
Anyone can figure it out. I did not watch any tutorials etc… because I wanted to give honest review. I had it dialed in after about 5 minutes.
SNORKELING is amazing. Forego the amusement park and hit the beaches!
Last… Let the kids edit it. I am not trying to make money on my vacation video and likely you shouldn’t be either. Let the kids edit and enjoy what they come up with.
If you don’t have a Go Pro check your local library. https://donnelly.lili.org/
